Falcons Fall to League Leading Lobos

USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force Academy women's soccer team fell to league leading New Mexico, 2-0, Friday afternoon, April 2, at the Cadet Soccer Stadium.

The offense generated seven shots on the day, including three on net. Corner kicks were tied 4-4 as well. Sophomore Faith Lee had two of the shot attempts, including one on frame.

Neither team got much going in the first 20 minutes, before UNM got on the board in the 21st minute with a goal to make it 1-0. From there, both teams did not get much in the way of opportunities, as the game remained a one-goal affair into the second half.

Starting the second half, UNM registered the first five shots, but nothing found twine into the 62nd minute. AF then tallied a pair of opportunities, but they were denied as well. That's when the Lobos extended their lead at the 68th minute to put the deficit at 2-0. Down the stretch, both teams split shot opportunities, but nothing else found pay dirt, leading to the 2-0 final.

The Falcons will be back in action on Sunday, April 4, for Senior Day against Utah State. Kickoff is set for noon MT, with the Senior Day ceremonies taking place pre-game.
