AIR FORCE vs. COLORADO STATE
11 a.m., Saturday, January 22
Cadet Natatorium, USAFA, CO
The Falcons (6-6-1) play host to Mountain West foe, Colorado State (13-0), Saturday (Jan. 22), at Cadet Natatorium. Action is slated to begin at 11 a.m. New Mexico, who was orginally slated to compete, dropped due to COVID protocols within the program.
A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION
Colorado State is undefeated in duals on the year, off to a 13-0 start, which matches the third-longest run in program history. The Rams already have a 265-145 victory over Air Force at the season-opening Intermountain Shootout in Grand Junction, a two-day meet with every event. The Rams have not competed since the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston on Nov. 18-20, where they placed fifth as a team.
The Lobos are coming fresh off a win at San Diego where they bested the Toreros, 129-106. The win moved UNM to 3-2 on the season, and it marked the first win for UNM over a Division I team this season after two near misses with NMSU and NAU. The Lobos, who didn't compete at all in 2020-21 due to pandemic, won despite not competing in diving at the event.
LAST TIME OUT
The women's swim and dive team came up short at Brigham Young as the Cougars outscored the Falcons, 191.00-155.00, in a two-day dual meet at Richards Building Pool. The Falcons saw victories in four events and 17 finishes inside the top-three.
NEXT UP
Air Force heads to the Colorado Sprint Championships, January 29, hosted at the University of Denver. Action is slated to begin at 1 p.m. MT in the El Pomar Natatorium.
