Air Force hosts Army, Jan. 28-29

This Week: Air Force (9-11-2, 7-7-2 AHA) hosts Army (9-11-3, 7-7-2 AHA) for a pair of Atlantic Hockey games, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 28-29, at Cadet Ice Arena. Friday's game starts at 7:35 pm MT while Saturday's opening faceoff is at 5:05 pm MT.

About the Black Knights: Army (9-11-3, 7-7-2 AHA) has a nearly identical record to Air Force. The Black Knights split a pair of home games last weekend with Holy Cross, losing game one, 3-1, and winning game two, 4-1. Army has non-conference wins over Princeton and Yale earlier in the season. Colin Bilek leads the team with 19 points. Anthony Firriolo leads the team with nine goals. Gavin Abric has started all but two games and has a 2.29 GAA and a .929 saves percentage. Abric leads the league, and is 10th in the nation, in saves percentage and is second in the AHA in GAA.

Series vs. Army: Air Force leads the all-time series vs. Army, 45-25-9. The teams did not play last season due to COVID protocols. The last time the teams played was Jan. 10-11, 2020 with Army taking five of the six points in West Point. The teams skated to a 3-3 overtime tie in game one as the Black Knights won the shootout in the ninth round. The Black Knights won game two, 5-2. In the last nine games, Air Force has a 4-2-3 record against Army. In games played at Air Force, the Falcons lead the all-time series, 23-8-5. In Atlantic Hockey games (since 2006-07), Air Force leads the series, 22-10-7 (including playoffs). Since becoming the Falcons' coach in 1997, Serratore is 34-16-8 (65 percent) vs. the Black Knights (58 games)
