Air Force Sweeps Metro State In Doubleheader

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis swept a doubleheader with Metro State Friday in non-conference action at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons have now won four in a row and improved to 5-2 on the season.

The Falcons won 6-1 and 7-0.

In the morning match, Air Force won 6-1. The Falcons won the doubles point and went 5-1 in singles play.

The Falcons swept the doubles play. Jonathan Mascagni and Arjun Kirsten won at No. 1, 6-4. Robert Baylon and Alex Krawietz won at No. 2, 6-2. Kyle Garner and Luke Wolf won at No. 3, 6-1.

In singles, Baylon won at No. 1, 7-5, 7-6. Nick Vroman won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-0. Justin Waldman won at No. 3, 6-0, 6-2. Garner won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-2. Wolf won at No. 5, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0. Krawietz fell at No. 6, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0.

In the nightcap, the Falcons won every single match, including five singles matches in straight sets.

Mascagni and Kersten teamed to win at No. 1 doubles again, 7-5. Waldman and Vroman won at No. 2, 6-1. Baylon and Brian Garcia won at No. 3 6-2.

In singles, Mascagni won at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3. Kersten won at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. Waldman won at No. 3, 7-6, 6-2. Garner won at No. 4, 7-4, 4-6, 6-3. Wolf won at No. 5, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0, Garcia won at No. 6, 6-3, 6-0.

Air Force returns to action Feb. 4, hosting Idaho.
