THE SERIES AGAINST CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
Air Force and Cal Baptist will be meeting for the sixth time with the Falcons holding the advantage in the five-match series, 3-2. The Falcons have outscored the Lancers, 10-6, in the five matches combined. In their last meeting, Air Force rallied to a late goal to secure a home win, 2-1, on October 7. The Falcons are 1-1 against the Lancers when playing in California.
AF CLINCHES TOP SEED
Air Force secured the top spot in the 2022 WAC Men's Soccer Championship on the strength of a 1-1 draw against San José State on Oct. 28. The Falcons closed the season with a 7-1-1 league record and an .833 conference winning percentage, their best WAC winning clip since 2017 (8-0-2, .900). Air Force previously earned the tournament's top seed in both 2017 and 2018.
The post-season berth marks the sixth-straight appearance, 10th all-time, at the WAC tournament. The Falcons have a combined 7-7-2 (.500) record and a conference tournament title in the spring of 2021. Seattle U is the active conference leader with five tournament championships (2013, '15, '17, '19, Fall '21) since joining the WAC.
AGHEDO BECOMES FOUR-TIME WAC HONOREE
Senior team captain and linchpin defender London Aghedo won 2022 WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors and registered his third First-Team All-WAC nod since 2020. As a freshman (2019), Aghedo made the All-Freshman team and was an All-WAC Honorable Mention.

With a win over CBU in the semifinals, the Falcons will play for the tournament title against the winner of No. 2 San Jose State and No. 3 Seattle U. The last time AF met Seattle U in the WAC playoffs was in 2016 where the Falcons downed the Redhawks, 3-1, in Orem, Utah. The last time Air Force met SJSU in the WAC Tournament was in Spring 2021 where the sixth-seeded Falcons won via PKs in the first round of the tournament, eventually going on to win the program's first-ever tournament championship.
MAKING HISTORY
For the first time ever, Air Force went 6-0 in conference action; however, in 2017, the Falcons went 8-0-2 on the conference slate (4-0-2 in the first six). Prior to 2018, the Falcons had a six-match undefeated start in the WAC in 1996, where they were 5-0-1 in the first six matches.
DEWING THE JOB
Thaddaeus Dewing, a junior forward, ranks among the best in the conference and NCAA in total goals (11/T1 in WAC, 10th in NCAA), goals per game (0.69/2nd in WAC, 10th in NCAA), game-winning goals (3/1st in WAC, 24th in NCAA). He is second in the league in total points (26/2nd in WAC, 12th in NCAA), and points per game (1.62/2nd in WAC, 12th in NCAA).
Dewing has scored a goal in nine of 16 matches this season, highlighted by his first career hat trick against a seasoned Utah Valley team on October 9. He is a two-time WAC Offensive Player of the Week
ANGELETTI ON TARGET
Senior midfielder Jake Angeletti leads AF and the WAC with eight assists this season, a mark that ranks him atop the WAC in total assists (8/21st in NCAA) and assists per game (0.50/20th in NCAA). Five of Angeletti's eight assist have come from the set piece, four of which led to header goals.
CLOCKING TIME
Linchpin defender and team captain London Aghedo leads all Falcons in career minutes played with 5350:36 minutes. Aghedo has started in all 62 career appearances for the most games started on the team. Senior midfielder Luke Hill has 67 career appearances, marking the most career appearances on the team.
LAST WEEKEND
Air Force blanked Grand Canyon, 2-0, in the regular season finale at GCU Soccer Stadium in Phoenix. The man of the night was junior keeper Jakob Stone who was impeccable in goal, making impressive saves at key moments in the match to stave off a fiery GCU offense. Stone made seven saves on the night, a career-best in his first career start and first career shutout.
Offensively, Thaddaeus Dewing led the squad with three shots, but it was Kobey Stoup and Nick Bisagno who made the strikes and finished with three points apiece.
BEST SEED EVER FOR SPARTANS

Three WAC teams checked in among the NCAA top 100 teams in the latest NCAA RPI that was released on Nov. 6. Conference leader Air Force checked in 41st in the RPI, with Utah Valley 76th and Seattle U 85th. The RPI is a key metric utilized by the NCAA selection committee to determine at-large qualifiers for the NCAA Championship
