THE SERIES AGAINST CANISIUS
-The Falcons and Griffs will be meeting for the eighth time in program history
-Air Force leads the seven-game series, 6-1.
-AF is undefeated against Canisius when playing at USAFA (2-0)
-Last time they met was in 2020, the Falcons won, 15-11
-Canisius' only win against AF was 7-6 on Feb. 22, 2014-This is the fifth time the Falcons and Griffs will meet in the fourth week of February, AF leads 3-1 in said week
-AF's largest margin of victory of Canisius is seven goals, 13-6, Feb. 22, 2015
THE SERIES AGAINST JACKSONVILLE
-The Falcons and Dolphins will be meeting for the 10th time in program history
-AF leads the nine-game series, 7-2
-JU won the last meeting as they more than doubled-up Air Force, 11-5, in Jacksonville for their largest margin of victory against AF
-The Dolphins have won two of the last three meetings, but haven't won at USAFA since 2011
-AF went on a six-meeting win streak from 2012 to 2017
-The Falcons largest margin of victory was 18-5 at USAFA in 2015
WHAT'S NEXT?
Air Force closes out a three-game home stint against Marist on Saturday, March 5. Action is slated for high noon at Falcon Stadium. The last time the teams met was in 2019 at USAFA where the Falcons doubled-up the Red Foxes, 12-6.
GONE STREAKING
Prolific AF attack man Ethan Grandolfo has scored a goal in 12-straight games dating back to March of 2021. He has tallied at least a point in 21-of-22 career appearances. He is the active career leader in goals (33) and points (40).
DOING NUMBERS
Air Force senior Brenden Crouse leads the Falcons with 13 goals this season. He put up two goals at No. 1 Virginia in the season opener. He followed up with a career-best six goals at No. 12 Denver. Last week he put up five at Colgate. He is on a seven-game goal streak dating back to his four-goal showing against VMI last season (Apr. 17). Last season, Jacksonville held Crouse pointless.
A ROSE IN A CAGE
Air Force junior goalie Jason Rose averages 16 saves per games so far this season. He hit the number on the head with 16 saves to his credit against Colgate last weekend. He put up a personal best 18 saves against No. 12 Denver two weeks ago and 14 saves against back-to-back champs No. 1 Virginia, in the season opener. He boasts a .522 save percentage heading into the weekend.
LAST WEEK
Air Force dropped an 11-8 contest at Colgate, Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium. The game was decided in the fourth quarter as Air Force was unable to convert a goal on 13 shots. Colgate, who trailed by a goal heading into the final 15 minutes, fired off four unanswered goals starting just under the seven-minute mark.
The Falcons were led in scoring by Brenden Crouse who scored five goals on the day, one goal shy of his career-best set at No. 12 Denver (Feb. 12). He took a game high 15 shots with nine coming on goal. Crouse has scored in every game this season. Air Force facilitator Brandon Dodd tallied three assists on the day, two of which helped Crouse to the finish.
