Falcons set season high in win over Nebraska

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. --- The Air Force rifle team shot a season-best 4717 to defeat Nebraska (4678) in a dual meet on Monday, Feb. 7, at the Cadet Gym Rifle Range. Air Force's 2329 in smallbore was a season high.
Nebraska's Cecelia Ossi won the overall aggregate with a score of 1185. Air Force took the next four spots as freshman Scott Rockett shot an 1183, sophomore Morgan Kreb shot 1181, senior Devin Schwindt shot 1179 and freshman Lauren Hurley shot 1176.
Rockett was the top Falcon in smallbore, and second overall, at 584. Kreb was third overall at 584, followed by Schwindt (582), Hurley (582), Peter Fiori (579), Ryan Habeck (577) and Dante Aletto (577).
Air Force took the top three spots in air rifle as Rockett matched his career high with a 599. Kreb and Schwindt each shot 597. The Falcons also collected spots five through eight in air rifle as Fiori and Williams shot 596 and Hurley and Habeck each shot 594.
Air Force (10-3 in duals) returns to action with dual against No. 3 TCU on Feb. 17 followed by the NCAA Qualifier on Feb. 19, both in Fort Worth, Texas. Air Force will then host the NCAA Championships, March 11-12, at the Academy.
