Falcon Lacrosse Extends to Five-Straight Wins with 16-9 Victory at Marquette

MILWAUKEE – Air Force commanded 16-9 win over Marquette on their home field, leading from wire-to-wire and downing the Golden Eagles for the first time in the all-time series, Saturday afternoon at the Valley Fields in Milwaukee. The Falcons extend to a five-game win streak (5-4) with the victory while MU dropped to 2-6 overall.
Air Force's usual suspects led the offensive charge— Brandon Dodd posted a game-high five goals, notching his fifth hat trick this season while teammate Brenden Crouse dished out four assists with a pair of goals, extending his active goal-streak to 13 games. Gavin Peene made his presence known with two goals to his credit. Freshman Kyle Griffith put on for the class of 2025 with two goals and an assist, bringing his season goals total to nine.
The Falcons displayed their offensive depth with nine scorers and six players tallying 10 assists. Sophomore Aidan Tolen put up a goal and an assist for his 10th and fourth, respectively. Alexander Stepney, Chris Bardak, Maxwell Kane, and Christian Marshall rounded out the Air Force scoring unit. Senior leader Chase Douglas dished out two assists and put two shots on frame.
Senior team captain Quentin Carlile continued his role as leader of the defense with a team-high two caused turnovers for his 18th this season. The Falcon defense caused a season-low four turnovers but clearly disrupted the Marquette attack plan. In goal, Jason Rose secured his fifth-straight win with 13 saves on the day.
Braden Gaab had an impressive showing at the center X, winning 8-of-13 attempts with three ground balls. Senior co-team captain and face off man Brian Michael won six face offs in 16 attempts, also scooping up three ground balls.
Marquette's offense was led by Luke Blanc's three goals, while the defense was led by Maso Woodward's three CTs.
Next up, Air Force returns to Falcons Stadium to host Utah in the ASUN Conference Opener at noon on Saturday, April 2. Air Force leads the three-game series, 2-1. Each game has been decided by a one-goal difference.
