
Seven Falcons Earn ASUN All-Conference Honors

USAF ACADEMY – In their inaugural season in the ASUN Conference, Falcon lacrosse won seven All-Conference awards, announced Wednesday by the league office. Air Force had a league best three players on the first team, one on the second team and three freshmen on the All-Freshman team.
Falcon senior Quentin Carlile and junior teammates Jason Rose and Brandon Dodd were tabbed first team All-Conference. Carlile leads the league and is third in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.83). Dodd, who had four hat tricks in five league games (nine on the season), scored the most goals and points by any player in the conference (45 G, 68 P), and is fourth in the nation in goals per game (3.46), and 10th in the NCAA in points per game (5.15). Rose leads the league with a .542 save-percentage and is third in the conference with 12.07 saves per game.
Falcon senior Brenden Crouse was the only Air Force player to earn a second-team nod. Crouse concluded the regular season with 37 goals, 14 assists and 51 points, marking the Falcons' first time ever having two single-season 50-point scorers on the same team. Crouse is fifth in the conference in both points and goals.
Air Force's Wes Peene, Kyle Griffith and Alexander Stepney received All-Freshman team nods. Peene, who finished with nine goals, was unanimously voted to the squad. Griffith was AF's third-leading scorer with 16 goals and five assists. Stepney notched nine goals and five assists to conclude the regular season. Bellarmine was the only other team to have three freshmen earn slots on the 10-man team.
Regular season champions Utah took three major awards. Tyler Bradbury won Player of the Year, Sammy Cambere won Defensive Player of the Year, and head coach Andrew McMinn won Coach of the Year. Jake Boudreau of Robert Morris was tabbed Midfielder of the Year and Cleveland State's Gannon Matthews received the Freshman of the Year nod.
Air Force heads to the ASUN Tournament to take on second-seed Robert Morris on Thursday, May 5, at 4 p.m. CT, while Bellarmine meets with top-seeded Utah the same day in at 1 p.m. CT. The championship game is set for 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 7.
