Air Force Pair Heads to U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Jalan Rivers and Bryce Lentz will continue their impressive freshman campaigns this weekend (June 24-25), when they represent the Air Force track and field team at the USATF Under-20 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Rivers will open the competition with the high jump on Friday at 12:45 p.m., while Lentz will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Saturday at 5:13 p.m. (all times Pacific). The steeplechase will be streamed live on USATF.TV (click here to subscribe).

Bids to August's World Athletics U20 Championships on the line for the competitors.

Rivers, an all-conference selection in the high jump, recorded a career-best outdoor clearance of 6'10¾" – the sixth-best height in program history – during his debut season with the Falcons, while Lentz, who completed the steeplechase circuit at Hayward during the NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this month, is the reigning Mountain West champion in that event and holds the third-fastest time in Air Force history following a 8:39.73 performance at the NCAA West Prelim.
