USAFA, Colo.- On Wednesday, head women's basketball coach Chris Gobrecht announced the final addition to her 2022-23 coaching staff, as Laura Daulton has been named an assistant coach at Air Force. Daulton, a former player at Utah State, joins the Falcons after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at East Texas Baptist.
"Laura Daulton is returning to the Mountain West Conference after playing for Utah State and then coaching in Texas," said Gobrecht. "I believe Laura can give us a great new dimension for our program with her ties to the Texas area and her experience as a Division I athlete."
Daulton arrives at Air Force after patrolling the Tigers bench since 2020, where she helped East Texas Baptist post a 46-7 record in two seasons. Her duties included recruiting, logistics, developing the skills of ETBU's interior players, and social media administration.
"Coach Gobrecht is a legend in the basketball community and being able to learn under her is an opportunity of a lifetime," said Daulton. "I am beyond grateful for the chance to work at such a special and prestigious institution. I am wholeheartedly behind the mission of the Air Force Academy and I cannot wait to start the 2022-23 season."
Daulton was a three-year player at Utah State as a center for the Aggies, accumulating 45 games worth of playing time. A standout in the classroom, Daulton was a two-time selection to the All-Mountain West Academic Team, as well as having been named a Mountain West Scholar Athlete in 2018.
Daulton received two bachelor's degrees in economics and finance upon graduation from Utah State. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from East Texas Baptist.
