Last Time Out
-With the clock dwindling, Air Force capitalized on its final attack, as Raine Komata found the back of the net as time expired, sealing the Falcons 2-1 win over Northern Arizona.
-After Faith Lee was fouled making a run towards the Lumberjack goal, the clock stopped with seven seconds remaining. Cassi Bych lobbed a free kick into the NAU penalty box, as the ball ricocheted into the air.
-As the NAU keeper attempted to punch the ball away from a crowded penalty area, Raine Komata settled the ball under her feet, lining the game-winning goal into the back of the net.
-The goal marks Komata's first collegiate score, securing Air Force's first road win of 2022.
-Andrea Mosher also netted her first Falcons goal in the 25th minute after being fouled in the penalty box. Mosher snuck a well-placed penalty shot past the keeper's left, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
-Northern Arizona did create a score in the 65th minute, though Komata's heroics saved the day for Air Force. Komata and Mosher led the Falcons with two shots on goal, while Jordi Ives attempted a team-high four shots.
-Sydney Davis opened the game in net for the Falcons, providing five saves over her 45 minutes. Cammi Bych entered in the second half, saving five of the six shots she faced.
-The Falcons concocted an aggressive gameplan, creating 11 shots on goal in 24 attempts. Air Force was also awarded six corner kicks to just one for NAU.
From Coach Busby after Northern Arizona
-"I am so proud of our team for battling a tough NAU squad on the road and picking up points. That was a challenging environment to play but we were able to keep our composure and score a brilliant goal in the final seconds."
A Diversified Attack
-Air Force has scored four goals this season by four different players (Audrey Colter, Raine Komata, Andrea Mosher, and Jenna Rubidoux.)
-Faith Lee, Jordi Ives, and Rubidoux are tied for the team lead with four shots on goal.
-Ives is the lone Falcon to attempt at least 10 shots this season.
-Three of Air Force's four goals have occured in the first-half of play.
Ol' Reliable
-Defender Stella Rubidoux is the only Air Force player to have accumulated all 450 minutes of available time on the pitch in all five matches this season.
