BROOKINGS, S.D.- After conceding a goal in the 7th minute, Air Force was unable to create an equalizer the remainder of the match, dropping today's contest 1-0 to South Dakota State.
"We made some mistakes in the first half, and credit to SDSU for taking advantage of them," said head coach Laura Busby.
In spite of outshooting the Jackrabbits 17-8, the Falcons found it difficult to in the final third to craft a proper chance at goal. The Falcons also provided nine shots on goal to just three for South Dakota State.
Faith Lee led all players with four total shots, while Jenna Rubidoux's two shots on goal were a game-high. Cassi Bych, Andrea Mosher, Jordi Ives, Grace Sublette, and Peyton Ferrell also made attempts at goal.
In her second-consecutive start at keeper, Sydney Davis provided two saves on the evening. Stella Rubidoux has now played all 540 available minutes in 2022 after not leaving the pitch on Thursday.
"We'll learn from our mistakes and and look to provide better quality around the goal on Sunday," said Busby.
Next, Air Force heads to Nebraska-Omaha for a matchup with the Mavericks on Sunday, September 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm MT.
