Air Force Unable To Rally In 17-14 Setback At Wyoming

Air Force football was unable to complete a late-game rally, falling 17-14 at Wyoming Friday night at War Memorial Stadium. The Falcons snapped a six-game win streak and dropped to 2-1, 0-1 MW on the season.
Trailing 10-0 after getting shut out in the first half, the Falcons stormed back with a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-10 lead. Wyoming (3-1, 1-0 MW) answered with a fourth-quarter touchdown to go back up 17-14 with six minutes to play. Air Force could not get any more points as its following drive stalled and Wyoming was able to run out the clock after.
Running back John Lee Eldridge III led the Falcons with a career-high 104 rushing yards. Quarterback Haaziq Daniels threw for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior tight end Kyle Patterson had a career-high three catches for 32 yards and wide receivers David Cormier and Cade Harris caught their first-career touchdown passes.
Wyoming got on the scoreboard first with a field goal in the first quarter. The Cowboys went up 10-0 as quarterback Andrew Peasley found tight end Treyton Welch for a touchdown pass with 7:21 to go in the second quarter.
Air Force opened the third quarter with a 13-play 75-yard touchdown drive, capped by a nine-yard touchdown pass by Daneils to Cormier.
The Falcons then took the lead with 10 minutes to play, as Daniels found Harris on a 41-yard touchdown strike.
Air Force was held to 272 total yards of offense, including 171 on the ground.
The Falcons return to action next Friday, Sept. 23, hosting Nevada. The game kicks at 6 pm MT and will be televised by FS1.
