Falcons overpower Wolf Pack in 48-20 win

Fullback Brad Roberts was responsible for 123 rushing yards on 20 carries, scoring three times. Friday becomes the third time in his career Roberts has scored three touchdowns, as his 25 career touchdowns are the ninth-most in school history. John Lee Eldridge III also surpassed the 100-yard mark, totaling 102 yards on just eight carries.
The running back committee saw eight different backs contribute to Air Force's 461 yards on the ground. Emmanuel Michel found the endzone in the third quarter, scoring from 26 yards out. He finished with 39 yards on seven carries. Aiden Calvert hit paydirt for the first time in his collegiate career late in the fourth quarter, a six-yard score on his only carry to give Air Force a 48-14 lead.
The Falcons rotated four quarterbacks throughout the evening, each having their moments. Haaziq Daniels rushed for 37 yards on eight carries. Ben Brittain's lone pass of the night resulted in an 80-yard touchdown to David Cormier, the only Falcon to catch a pass. Jensen Jones ran the ball twice for 14 yards as well.
Aside from a kneel down to end the first half, Air Force managed points on eight of its nine drives.
The Air Force defense maintained its stout presence, holding Nevada to just 242 yards. Alec Mock led the Falcons with eight tackles, including five solo stops. Camby Goff, Jayden Goodwin, and Vince Sanford all recorded a pass breakup each. Of the Wolf Pack's nine drives, the Falcon defense forced six Nevada punts.
Kicker Matthew Dapore was a perfect 2-for-2 on the evening, connecting from 42 and 51 yards. Dapore has now made 10 of his last 11 tries and is 14-17 in his career.
Next, Air Force will host service academy rival Navy on Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00 am MT at Falcon Stadium.
