Series History vs. Opponents
-Historically, Air Force is 10-19-1 against New Mexico.
-The Falcons were defeated 2-1 in Albuquerque a season ago.
-Air Force's most previous home win against New Mexico was in 2019, a 3-0 victory.
-The Falcons are 1-23-1 all time against the Aztecs.
-Air Force has not beaten San Diego State since 2001, a 3-0 home win.
Last Time Out
-After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Air Force flipped a switch in the second-half, scoring thrice en route to a 3-1 win over Fresno State.
-Facing a one-goal deficit, Jenna Rubidoux scored her second goal of the season in the 53rd minute. The sophomore received a well-placed cross from Faith Lee, tapping home the score from just off the keeper's line.
-The assist was Lee's first of the season.
-Following Rubidoux was Jordi Ives, who forced a Fresno State turnover on the Bulldogs side of the pitch. Ives stole the ball, lined up her shot, and laced home a right-footed strike to give Air Force a 2-1 lead and while finding the back of the net for the first time this season.
-Not long after, Lee put a stamp on the Falcons afternoon with a long-range score down the left side of the Air Force attack. Lee's goal also marks her first of 2022.
-The Falcons were rewarded as the more potent offensive side, posting 13 total shots and seven on goal. Air Force keeper Sydney Davis staved off three of the four shots she saw on target.
-The win marks head coach Laura Busby's first conference victory at Air Force.
From Coach Busby after Fresno State
-"What an incredible second-half performance from our team. We struggled to break down their high back line in the first-half, but I thought they applied everything we talked about at halftime and created some fantastic scoring opportunities. It feels like we gained a bit of confidence in the final third and I'm glad we can bring that momentum back home against the defending conference champions."
Top of the Class
-Sophomore Jenna Rubidoux and freshman Raine Komata lead Air Force with two scores each, the only players with multiple goals this season.
-Rubidoux has managed two goals on nine shots on goal, while Komata has scored on 50% of her shots on goal.
-Faith Lee and Jordi Ives have attempted a team-high 18 shots.
Proper Defense
-Air Force owns the fourth-lowest goals against average in the Mountain West, allowing just 1.11 goals in seven matches.
-The Falcons three clean sheets this season are tied for the second-most in the conference.
Ol' Reliable
-Defender Stella Rubidoux is the only Air Force player to have accumulated all 720 minutes of available time on the pitch in all eight matches this season.
Syd the Kid
-Sydney Davis has been plugged into the goalkeeper role over the past five matches, allowing just two goals to her 17 saves.
-Without enough matches for official qualification, her .895 save percentage would top the conference.
