Falcons Head to Boulder for Potts Invitational

The Air Force track and field team returns to action this weekend, as it kicks off the 2023 calendar year at the Potts Indoor Invitational in Boulder. The Falcons, who had an impressive season-opening weekend in December, return from winter break to face off against their Front Range counterparts at Colorado's Indoor Practice Facility on Friday, Jan. 14, and Saturday, Jan. 15.
MEET INFORMATION
The Potts Invitational, which includes local DI teams from Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Wyoming, will be held at the Indoor Practice Facility on the east side of Folsom Field. The six field events will take place on Friday, while all running events will be held on Saturday (a complete schedule of events is listed below). For fans planning to attend the meet, admission is $5 on Friday and $8 on Saturday. Only water is allowed inside the IPF and spectators must adhere to Colorado's "Clear Bag Policy". Live results will be available via CUBuffs.com/TrackLive.

FRIDAY – 12:00 p.m.: Men's Shot Put, followed by Women's Shot Put, Men's Weight Throw, Women's Weight Throw; 12:00 p.m.: Men's High Jump, followed by Women's High Jump; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, followed by Men's Pole Vault; 12:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; SATURDAY – 11:00 a.m.: 60-Meter Hurdles (prelim), 60-Meter Dash (prelim), Mile Run, 60-Meter Hurdles, 60-Meter Dash, 400-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (men will compete first in all running events)

AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Highlighted by a pair of top-10 marks, four Falcons are listed among the nation's top 20 in the latest TFRRS standings. Caiden Macktinger is currently ranked sixth in the NCAA with his 17'6½" clearance in the pole vault, while Sam Gilman is 10th in the 5000-meter run following a 13:25.64 performance in the opener. In addition, Javin Bostic is ranked 16th in the 60-meter dash (6.77, adjusted for altitude) and Halle Hamilton is listed 19th at 5000 meters (15:51.39).

The Falcons return to the Academy next week to host the Ralph Lindeman Invitational on Jan. 19-21.
