Riding a two-match win streak, the Air Force women's tennis team takes to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. for a pair of dual matches against Florida International and Navy.
Versus FIU:
The Panthers defeated Air Force in their lone all-time matchup, earning a 5-2 win on April 7, 2001.
College MatchDay:
Air Force women's tennis faces Navy on ESPN+ in the first-ever dual match between both rival service academies.
College MatchDay, the USTA's popular neutral-site college tennis showcase event, has averaged more than 1,000 fans since it debuted at the Campus in 2017.
Air Force has twice played at College MatchDay in the past, squaring off against service academy rival Army in 2019 and 2022. This will be Navy's first appearance on College MatchDay, and the first time in program history for both women's teams to face one another in dual play. The Air Force-Navy match will feature a number of military-themed tributes, including a free clinic for veterans and a flyover.
Falcon Highlights:
Air Force is currently led by senior Sydney Fitch, who is 4-0 on court one in doubles play with partner Alexis Odom to open the dual season, along with notching three-straight singles wins versus Creighton and North Dakota.
In singles, Freshman Arianna Van Houweling is 4-1 on court six. The Jan. 25 Mountain West Freshman of the Week has earned all four match wins in straight sets, including a 6-1, 6-3 win against Colorado in the Falcons' spring opening weekend.
