ORLANDO, Fla. – In an uphill battle against a talented FIU squad, the Air Force women's tennis team fell 4-0 at the USTA National Campus Thursday afternoon.

On court one, Sydney Fitch fell to FIU's Yasmine Kabbaj 6-2, 6-2; Alexis Odom dropped her match on court two, 6-3, 6-1; Freshman Arianna Van Houweling dropped to 4-2 on the season on line six, falling against FIU's Salma Loudili, 6-1, 6-2.
From Head Coach Kim Gidley:
"It was great to play against some tough competition. FIU is the toughest team we will play all year, and I'd imagine they will be ranked in the top ten percent of all teams in the country, especially after just coming off a big win against UCLA.
"We really upped our strength of schedule this year to push the team, and each match they're learning and getting better. We had some bright spots, as our No. 1 doubles was 3-4 against the no. 44 ranked pair and Isabella Flodin won the first set and was up in the second before the match was halted."
The Falcons (2-4) remain in Orlando to face Navy on USTA's College MatchDay on ESPN+ Saturday.
