ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Air Force senior Sam Gilman picked up the fourth All-America award of his career this evening (March 11), as he closed out the indoor season with an 11th-place finish in the 3000-meter run at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque.
Gilman completed his trek around the Convention Center oval in a time of 8:05.67 (7:53.71a) – finishing 11th in the national final and matching his entry placement. The senior, who has now claimed All-America distinction at the cross country (2021), indoor (2022, 2023) and outdoor (2022) NCAA championship meets, became the sixth member of the men's team to claim All-America honors in the 3000-meter run.
With the indoor portion of the season now complete, Gilman and the Falcons turn their attention outdoors. Air Force heads to Pueblo next weekend (March 17-18) to kick off the second half of the 2022-23 campaign at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird Invitational.
