Air Force Rolls To 5-2 Win Over Chicago State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis defeated Chicago State 5-2 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the Indoor Tennis Courts in Cadet Gym. The Falcons won its third straight and improved to 10-1 on the season.

The Falcons opened by taking the doubles points with wins at No. 2 and 3. Arjun Kersten and AJ Moore won at No. 2 over Pahwa/Alves 6-2. Jonathan Mascagni and Kyle Garner won at No. 3 over Hidalgo Vega/Siercke 6-4 to clinch.

In singles, the Falcons went 4-2, with wins at No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles. Mascagni won at No. 4 over Rodrigo Alves 7-5, 6-3 to put the Falcons ahead 2-0. Justin Waldman then won at No. 3 over Max Sandoval 7-5, 6-3 to put the Falcons ahead 3-0.

Chicago State then won at No. 2 and No. 1 to pull to within one at 3-2. AJ Moore then clinched for the Falcons with a win at No. 5 over Arhaan Pahwa 6-1, 6-2. Kyle Garner then won at No. 6 over Percy Siercke 6-1, 6-2.

Air Force returns to action Wednesday, March 8, hosting Idaho State. The match begins at 5:30 pm MT.
