Box Score
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force women's team, playing its third match in a 24-hour stretch, fell 5-0 to No. 39 Denver on Sunday evening in the East Gym.
Opening with doubles play, Falcon pairs Sydney Fitch/Alexis Odom and Courtney Swift/Andrea Le both fell 6-1, clinching the doubles point for DU. Air Force is now 8-2 as a team in doubles play.
In singles on court three, Odom took Denver's Britt Pursell to a third set but fell 7-6.
On court five, Abby Cotuna took her first set, 6-2, before the remainder of her match was called.
Thoughts From Head Coach Kim Gidley:
"This is the second team ranked in the top 10% of all Division I programs which we have played in the last month. Denver came out on fire, but our team found a way to work themselves in their matches and make them earn the win. The improvement this team is making from week to week and big and I am so proud of their fight and effort!"
Next Up:
The Falcons (4-6) head to Phoenix to face GCU on March 11.
