Air Force’s Jake Heidbreder Named To All-MW Basketball Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore guard Jake Heidbreder of Air Force was named to the 2023 Men's Basketball All-Mountain West Team announced by the conference office on Tuesday, as voted by the league's 11 coaches. Heidbreder earned Third-Team honors.
Heidbreder, a native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., closed out the regular season ranking 10th in the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game. He ranks fourth in three-point baskets per game, averaging 2.26 per game. His 70 three's leads the team and is one shy of cracking the program top-10 season mark.
One of the top scoring guards in the conference, Heidbreder is shooting 49.2 percent from the field, 39.2 percent from three-point range and 86.3 percent from the free throw line. His free throw shooting currently is eighth-best in a season at Air Force.
Heidbreder is the first Falcon to make the All-MW team since guard AJ Walker earned third-team honors in 2020-21 and the first Academy sophomore to earn the honor since Tre' Coggins in 2013-14.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, March 8, in the opening round of the 2023 Mountain West Men's Basketball Championships at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The Falcons are the 10-seed and play seven-seed UNLV in the second game of the day, slated for a 1:30 pm PT tip.
