USAF ACADEMY – Air Force will kick off the 2023 campaign with exhibition action at Denver, August 12. The Falcons will host nine home matches at Cadet Soccer Stadium in the upcoming season.
The exhibition against Denver marks the first-of-three preseason matches. The Falcons will host CSU Pueblo and Colorado-Mines on August 16 and 18, respectively.
"We are looking forward to playing a very balanced home and away schedule being home for nine of our conference and nonconference games," head coach Doug Hill said. "We were on the road the past two years and get to play our first home series for this group at home during parents' weekend. We're excited to host Western Michigan, who competed in the NCAA's last year, and Sacramento State in front of a family-filled crowd."
The regular season kicks off on the road as the Falcons take on service academy rival Army, August 24. Air Force will play non-conference road matches against Seton Hall, Cal State Fullerton, and Cal Poly. The Falcons will host five non-conference matches; Western Michigan, Sacramento State, Central Arkansas, UC San Diego, and San Francisco.
"It will be the first time this group travels to West Point and finish up that trip playing Seton Hall who we played in the second round of the NCAA's during the 2021 Spring season," Hill continued. "The non-conference schedule should prepare us well for our conference play which will be very competitive as always, and we must end up in the top six to make the conference playoffs."
Conference action is slated to begin on September 28 with road matches against San Jose State and Seattle U. Air Force will bring the conference slate to an end with three-straight home matches against UTRGV, Grand Canyon and California Baptist.
The Western Athletic Conference Tournament First Round will be hosted by the league's top seeds on November 11. Following the first round, the remaining teams will descend on Las Vegas for the semifinals and championship, November 8 and 11, respectively.
