
Getting To Know The Falcon MBB Freshmen: Sam Akinrelere and Kolby Gilles

In preparation for the upcoming 2023-24 season, Air Force men's basketball is introducing its freshman class with a weekly introduction. First up, the Falcons would like to welcome freshmen Sam Akinrelere and Kolby Gilles to the program.
Sam Akinrelere
Height/Weight: 6-2, 228
Position: Guard
Hometown: Houston, TX
Previous Schools: USAFA Prep/Foster High School
Sam Akinrelere is another Texan that joins the Falcon basketball team. Akinrelere played at Foster High School in Richmond, Texas where he was the District MVP and three-time defensive player of the year. His favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers and favorite athlete is LeBron James.
Kolby Gilles
Height/Weight: 6-5, 240
Position: Forward
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Previous Schools: USAFA Prep/St. Ignatius College Prep
Kolby Gilles comes from Chicago and played at St. Ignatius College Prep in the Chicago Catholic League, where he helped lead the program to several league and regional titles. He credits his high school basketball coaching staff as having the biggest influence on his sports career.
