U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – As the Mountain West Conference celebrates 25 years of high-level competition in Division I athletics, the Air Force women's gymnastics team finds itself getting in on the commemoration.
The Falcons' 2024 schedule, while hosting a number of familiar opponents, now dons the Mountain West logo, as the league announced its adoption of women's gymnastics as its 19th sponsored sport on May 24.
Competition for the Falcons in 2024 – and the start of Mountain West competition – starts with a trio of road contests at Boise State (Jan. 19), Utah State (Jan. 26) and San Jose State (Feb. 4).
The Falcons return home to debut in the West Gym on Feb. 9, hosting a quad with Iowa, Sacramento State and Southeast Missouri State in attendance.
Feb. 16, Air Force remains at home, hosting a pair of familiar programs in UC Davis and Centenary College, before heading back out west for a return to The Nest at Sacramento State on Feb. 23.
Air Force's third and final home performance takes place on March 1, as the Falcons play host to San Jose and Utah State in a Mountain West regular-season finale.
The remainder of March places the Falcons on the road, as they finish out regular-season competition at Denver (March 3), Clemson (March 8) and Minnesota (March 17), before taking on the first Mountain West Conference Championships in Logan, Utah on March 23.
USA Gymnastics nationals take place Apr. 12-14 in West Chester, Penn.
