GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – Sophomore Alvaro Fonseca led the Air Force golf team in the second round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate, Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich. Fonseca made three birdies en route to a 75 on the day.
After an opening round 73, Fonseca is the top Falcon after 36 holes at 148 (+6). Senior Maxwell Heupel sits at 152 after 36 holes, followed by freshman Eli Huntington (154), junior Cameron Kahle (157) and sophomore Ted Davenport (170).
Air Force is in 15th place with a 608 after a 297 in the first round and a 311 in the second round. The Falcons are the top service academy as Army sits at 624 and Navy is at 631. Michigan State, the host school, leads the field at 570 (+2). Arizona is second at 574 and South Carolina is third at 576.
The final round of the tournament begins at 11:40 am ET on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the American Dunes Golf Club. The tournament is live on Golf Channel from 4-7 pm ET each day.
