THE SERIES
Air Force and Central Arkansas are meeting for the third time in program history. The Falcons first hosted the Bears in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Championships where the eventual Sweet 16 Falcons blanked the Bears, 4-0. Last season (2022), Air Force travelled to Conway, Arkansas, where they were tripped up in a 3-1 loss.
Air Force and UC San Diego are meeting for the first time in program history. The Tritons will take on No. 17 Denver on Friday (Sept. 8), prior to coming to USAFA on September 10.
UP NEXT
The Falcons hit the road for a pair of road matches in California. First, Air Force takes on Cal State Fullerton on Thursday (Sept. 14). Following the match against the Titans, the Falcons head to San Luis Obispo to take on Cal Poly on Sunday (Sept. 17). Action is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT and 3 p.m. PT, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
Air Force dropped a pair of home matches over the weekend, falling against Western Michigan, 1-0, and Sacramento State, 3-1.
KING OF THE HILL
Air Force senior team captain Luke Hill is the only goal scorer for the Falcons so far this season. Hill scored two goals via PK and one via touches from Remi Smith and Thaddaeus Dewing. Hill's three goals are a personal high for single season goals. He has eight career goals.
NO BIG DEAL
Air Force is off to a bumpy start in 2023; however, in 2021 the Falcons got off to an 0-3 start and ultimately battled to a WAC tournament berth. Last season (2022), the Falcons were winless in their first six matches but turned it around with seven-straight wins and another WAC tournament berth.
