
Women’s tennis drops Saturday match at Denver

DENVER – On the road at Denver following a long evening in the Cadet Gym the previous night, the Air Force women's tennis team took on nine-time Summit League champion DU, falling 4-0 at the hands of the Pioneers on Saturday afternoon.
In doubles, Air Force fell on lines one and two. On court one, Pioneer duos Andrea Burguete Beltran/Britt Pursell defeated Arianna Van Houweling/Isabella Flodin. The Falcon pair, down as much as 4-1 in the set, claimed two more games in the set but ultimately went down 6-3.
On line two in singles, Nadia Kojonroj fought deep into her first set against DU's Pursell, but fell 7-5. The freshman trailed 2-1 in the second set when the match was called.
After dropping her first set 6-3, fellow newcomer Joselyn Limbago led 4-3 in her second set against Claudia Martinez de Velasco, when Denver clinched the win on court one.
From Coach Hollander on the Falcons' opening weekend:
"I'm overall very proud of how we showed up for our matches this weekend. The team is starting to buy into the big picture for this program. They showed grit and heart from start to finish. A great starting point for the spring season."
