Air Force Men Complete Day One At MW Tennis Fall Qualifier

Air Force men's tennis completed day one competition at the first-ever Mountain West Tennis Fall Qualifier, held Wednesday at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Senior Arjun Kersten led the way by advancing to the quarterfinals in singles play.
Air Force posted four wins on the day, all coming in singles competition.
The Falcons opened the round of 32 with three wins. Alec Fritzinger defeated Taiyo Kurata of Boise State 7-5, 6-4. Phillip Deaton defeated Paul Janson of San Diego State 7-6 (7-4), 6-1. Kersten defeated Dusan Rsovac of UNLV 6-3, 6-4. Jack Brown fell to Sergi Mico Fenollar of Utah State 7-5, 6-4.
In the round of 16, Kersten defeated Dario Ciobotaru of New Mexico in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals Thursday. Fritzinger fell to Georgio Samaha of New Mexico 7- 6 (7-5), 7-5 and Deaton fell to Youssef Kadiri of Nevada 6-2, 6-2.
Air Force dropped both of their doubles matches in the round of 16.
