Air Force Downed At San José State, 73-66

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Air Force men's basketball (8-16, 1-11 MW) fell 73-66 at San José State (9-16, 2-10 MW) in Mountain West play Tuesday night at Provident Credit Union Event Center. Sophomore Rytis Petraitis led the Falcons with a career-high 26 points.
Air Force was unable to hold a halftime lead, as the Spartans shot 75 percent in the second half, en route to the win. For the game, San Jose State shot 64 percent from the field.
The Falcons led 34-31 at the half and were up by as many as six in the second half. San Jose State took control of the game with a 16-0 run to break up a tie game.
Petraitis also set career-high's for free throws made and attempted, going 13-for-18 from the line. It was the second-most free throws attempted in a conference game in program history, and the most since Otis Jones attempted 20 free throws against Utah in 1994.
Petraitis also tied for the team-lead with eight rebounds and three assists and also led the team with three steals. Beau Becker added 13 points on three three's and Ethan Taylor scored 11 points.
Myron Amey Jr. led the Spartans with 25 points. Alvaro Cardenas added 22 points.
Air Force is off from competition for the next eight days with the Saturday bye. The Falcons return to action Wednesday, Feb. 21, hosting UNLV.
