Women’s tennis falls 4-1 to Army at College MatchDay

ORLANDO, Fla. – Facing Army West Point on the USTA National Campus in Orlando, the Air Force women's tennis team earned a pair of victories over its fellow service academy but could not pull off the team win as the Falcons fell 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons pulled off the first win of the day, as lead off duo Arianna Van Houweling/Isabella Flodin downed Army tandem Cooper Jackson/Paige Herremans. Army notched set wins on courts two and three off a deuce point to clinch the doubles point.

On line three in singles, freshman Nadia Kojonroj earned a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jenna Sabile, earning fifth win in six matches. All five wins have been earned in straight sets.

"We battled through a tough situation and unfortunately didn't get the result we wanted. I truly believe next time we face Army it will be a different story."
