Falcons match best round of season on opening day in Arizona

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team matched its best round of the year on the opening day of the spring season, Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Loyola Intercollegiate, Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz. Air Force shot a 291, the team's third 291 of the 2023-24 season.
Sophomore Alvaro Fonseca made four birdies and matched his career-low score of 71 (-1). He is tied for 27th overall. Senior Aaron Kuznik shot a season-low 72 (even) with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 second hole. Sophomore Brooks Morrell and freshman Eli Huntington each shot 74 (+2) and junior Cameron Kahle shot 79.
The Falcons' 291 puts Air Force in 15th place in the 20-team even, one stroke ahead of Mountain West foe Boise State.
The second round of the tournament is Monday, Feb. 26, with a shotgun start at 7:45 am MST.
