Air Force Men’s Tennis Hosts Idaho State and North Dakota

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis hosts Idaho State and North Dakota this weekend at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons take on Idaho State on Friday, Feb. 9 and North Dakota on Sunday, Feb. 11.

About the Falcons:
Air Force returns seven letterwinners off the 2022-23 team, which went 12-11 on the season. The Falcons welcome three newcomers, including two freshmen. Air Force returns its top No. 1 singles players in All-MW singles and doubles selection in junior Arjun Kersten and senior and team captain Nick Vroman. In addition, the Falcons return sophomore Phillip Deaton, the 2023 Mountain West Freshman of the Year.

Air Force defeated Weber State, 6-1, in its home-opener last Saturday, Feb. 3.
Fritzinger earned MW Freshman of the Week honors:
Alec Fritzinger was named Mountain West men's tennis freshman of the week. Fritzinger won his singles match in the 6-1 win over Weber State.
Urbina takes over program:
Evan Urbina enters his first season as the head coach for Air Force. Urbina helped build up the program the previous nine years as the assistant coach under Dan Oosterhous, who retired from coaching after the 2022-23 season.
About Idaho State:
Idaho State enters the week with a 3-3 record. The Bengals lost to Utah State and defeated Colorado Mesa and Whitman College last weekend. Idaho State plays at Denver on Thursday before its Friday match vs. Air Force.
About North Dakota:
North Dakota enters the week with a 2-5 record. The Fighting Hawks take on Idaho State on Saturday, before its match vs. Air Force.
