Air Force (11-13, 4-7 MW) found itself down early on against the Wolfpack and managed to climb back to a lead late in the third quarter and were tied heading into the fourth, but allowed an 8-0 Nevada run to open the fourth quarter from which Air Force could not recover.
Sophomore Milahnie Perry's 30 points – a new career high – led the Falcons on Wednesday evening, followed by 12 junior Madison Smith.
Down by eight entering the second half, a Perry and-one play followed by a contested layup off of a mid-court steal picked up by Smith on the following possession sparked the Falcons' tying run, as Perry and Smith combined for 11 points to diminish Nevada's lead to a 36-all draw at the midway point in the quarter. With a minute remaining in the fourth. Perry drove against Nevada's Kaylen Banwareesingh, reclaiming an Air Force lead after finding a layup off the glass, but Wolfpack guard Audrey Roden responded with an open look at the basket on the opposite end to again tie at the end of the quarter.
