Women’s tennis falls to UNLV

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Closing opening weekend of Mountain West play at the Academy, the Air Force women's tennis team fell, 4-1, to UNLV on Sunday morning at the Cadet Gym.

Falcon pair Arianna Van Houweling/Nadia Kojonroj, pairing up for the first time in match play, earned a 6-4 victory on line one in doubles over UNLV's Zita Kovacs/Hanna Vinahradava, but Falcon defeats on courts two (Cindy Hu/Coco Zhao vs. Alexis Odom/Isabella Flodin, 6-3) and three (Aura Fang/Salsa Aher vs. Joselyn Limbago/Giovanna Sanchirico, 6-2) yielded the doubles point to the Lady Rebels.

Senior Isabella Flodin earned the Falcons' one point of the day, downing Vinahradava in a three-set battle after falling in the opening set, improving to 4-1 in singles matches at home.

The Falcons fell on lines one (Kovacs vs. Van Houweling, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5), two (Kojonroj vs. Aher, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2) and three (Hu vs. Odom, 6-1, 6-1), securing the clinch for UNLV.
