
Falcons Claim Five Titles at 2024 USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals

USAF ACADEMY – Air Force soared above the competition in the 2024 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships, Saturday afternoon, in Cadet West Gym at the Academy. Three AF gymnasts claimed five event titles while five Falcons won nine USAG All-America honors.
Garrett Braunton led the Falcons in the event, winning three titles and four All-America honors. Braunton won the still rings with 13.500, the p-bar with 13.850, and the h-bar with 13.800. He placed fifth in the floor exercise with 13.250.
Oliver Zavel had a stellar showing, claiming the floor exercise title with 14.150 to tie his season best score. He earned his second All-America honor on the vault where he finished fifth with 14.300. Teammate Erich Upton was also awarded All-American on the vault after he scored 14.250 for a sixth-place finish.
Junior specialist Patrick Hoopes continued his dominance on the pommel horse, winning the title with an impressive 14.950. Teammate Sam Brown earned USAG All-America and claimed second in the event with 14.100.
The Falcons are peaking at the right time as look forward to the upcoming MPSF Conference Tournament, April 6, in Norman, Oklahoma.
