Air Force suffers loss to Saint Mary's

MORAGA- In a Tuesday ballgame at Saint Mary's, Air Force couldn't corral the Gaels lineup, as the Falcons were topped 15-5 to end the California road trip.

Charlie Jones was the only Falcon with multiple hits, going 2-3 with 2 RBIs and a walk. The sophomore is now 10-26 (.385) over his first nine games of 2024.

In the 2nd, Christian Taylor nearly missed a home run, driving an RBI triple off the left field fence to score the game's first run. Since entering the starting lineup, Taylor has produced at least one hit in six of the last seven games, including three extra-base hits.

Chase Spencer and Jake Greiving provided hits, as Greiving also saw two runs score off his bat following a Saint Mary's error in the 5th.

Taylor's triple was Air Force's only extra-base hit.

After a collectively difficult Sunday for the Air Force pitching staff, Tuesday proved to be equally as troublesome. The Falcons allowed 17 hits for the second-consecutive game, 11 of which produced extra bases. Saint Mary's managed at least two runs in four of their eight turns at the plate, as the Falcons surrendered 10 walks, a new season high.

Air Force has now lost its last three games.

Next, the Falcons will face a familiar foe in the Nevada Wolfpack, as the Mountain West series begins Thursday, March 28.
