Huntington leads Falcons on first day at El Macero

All Air Force Academy home and away intercollegiate athletic events will be held as scheduled during the government shutdown. Huntington leads Falcons on first day at El Macero

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Freshman Eli Huntington led the Air Force golf team in the first round of the El Macero Classic, Friday, April 12, at the El Macero Golf Club in El Macero, Calif.

Huntington made two birdies on the day for a three-over 75 and is tied for 20^th of 104 golfers. Alvaro Fonseca made three birdies for a 77 (+5). Cameron Kahle and Carson Baker each shot 80 and Christopher Park shot 84. Sophomore Brooks Morrell, competing as an individual, shot 77.

Grand Canyon leads the field with a 294 (+6). Cal Baptist is second (296) and UC San Diego is third (298). Air Force is in 15^th place with a 312.

The second round begins at 8:30 am PT on Saturday, April 13 in El Macero, Calif.
