Head Coach Taylor Hollander discussess successes in D.C. and expectations as Falcons navigate fall season
Air Force Women's Tennis, sporting a strong start to fall play after two weekends of competition, carries its momentum to Fort Collins this weekend, as the Falcons take on Colorado State's Jon Messik Invitational, set for Sept. 27-29.
Action at the CSU Tennis Complex is set to begin 10 a.m. MT on Friday, and 9 a.m. each day following.
As a team, the Falcons are currently 27-21 in singles play and 13-13 in doubles. Senior team captain Alexis Odom currently sits at a team-best 5-1 record and looking to build on a three-match win streak. Sophomores Nadia Kojonroj and Joselyn Limbago both sport 4-1 singles record, with Kojonroj putting a four-match win streak on the line and Limbago having won three consecutive.
In doubles, junior Ariannna Van Houweling and Kojonroj both lead the pack at a 5-1 and 4-2, respectively. Van Houweling opened doubles play in 2024 going 3-1 with freshman Sofia Mavor at Air Force's own Bedford Cup, then posting a 2-0 weekend against Army and Navy with Kojonroj at the Commander-In-Chief's Challenge in Washington D.C. Mavor is 4-2 in doubles action after the strong start with Van Houweling at the Bedford Cup, followed by a split weekend in D.C. with Odom.
