Matthew Dapore added a field goal in the third quarter to make it 10-0. Alec Mock added an 18-yard interception return for a touchdown to make it 17-0 late in the fourth quarter. Navy scored a late touchdown to make up the final margin. Air Force had 288 total yards, including 151 passing and 137 rushing. Larrier hit 4-5 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown while Emmanuel Michel added 69 yards rushing on 22 carries. The defense was dominant, holding Navy to just 124 total yards on 64 plays, an average of 1.9 per play. Air Force held Navy to 22 yards rushing on 35 carries. The Falcons jumped to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter behind a Haaziq Daniels 67-yard touchdown pass to David Cormier and a Matthew Dapore 23-yard field goal. Navy took advantage of an Air Force fumble and kicked a field goal to make it 10-3 at the half. The Midshipmen tied the game with a Tai Lavatai five-yard touchdown run with 10:50 left in the fourth. The Falcons answered with a 22-yard field goal from Dapore to take the lead for good with 4:14 remaining. Following a Navy punt, the Falcons ran out the clock to secure the win. Daniels put the game away with an 18-yard run on third-and-six for a first down. A few kneel downs later ended the game. Air Force used a balanced attack to finish with 356 total yards, including 200 rushing and a season-best 156 passing. AIR FORCE TO HONOR AFSOC WITH 2024 APLS EDITION
The Air Force football team will honor Air Force Special Operations Command with the 2024 edition of the Air Power Legacy Series uniform. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) is always ready to answer our nation's call and provide forces for worldwide deployment. The Falcons will wear the special uniform for the Navy game this week.
The uniform combination has a number of key elements highlighting areas of the AFSOC mission. The helmet features the official emblem of AFSOC. The back bumper of the helmet highlights AFSOC's motto, "Any Place, Any Time, Anywhere." A sticker on the back of the helmet highlights the Air Force Special Tactics logo with a lightning bolt, green feet, and dagger, representing the "First there, that others may live" community. The front bumper of the helmet features the Special Tactics Combat Control motto "First There." The jersey name plate on the right chest features each player's name. The right sleeve is adorned with an American flag, while the left showcases one of three different badges representative of Air Force Special Tactics. The red swoosh on the jersey and pants, along with the red outline in the numbers, are a tip of the cap to the scarlet beret worn by Special Tactics Combat Controllers. On the back of the jersey will be AFSOC in the traditional nameplate. The pants will feature a dagger, a symbol of special operations, on the left leg and the Special Tactics Combat Control motto "First There" on the right leg.
Air Force Special Operations Command, headquartered at Hurlburt Field, Florida, is the special operations component of the United States Air Force. AFSOC is also the service's component to United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), a unified combatant command located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.
