
Air Force to Host Nevada for Cancer Awareness Match

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - The Falcons are set to host the Wolf Pack of Nevada on Sunday October 19 at 1 p.m. MT for the Cancer Awareness match. Air Force will honor their own Addie Doyle during a pregame ceremony.

Base Access
Access procedures at the U.S. Air Force Academy continue to affect athletic events. While the installation remains open, anyone without a DoD ID card must obtain a visitor pass to enter the base.
New this year: Passes will now be issued monthly instead of requiring a separate submission for each event. This means ticket holders only need to complete the form once per month to gain access to all events during that time. Ticket holders can request a base pass using the link.
All-Time Versus the Wolf Pack
Air Force has played a total of 12 matches against Nevada, dating back to the first matchup in 2012, a home loss for the Falcons. AFA holds an overall losing record of 5-6-1, and a home record of 2-4. The most recent Air Force win was a 1-0 shutout in 2024.
Last Time Out
The Falcons (5-6-3, 3-2-1) completed their third Mountain West win, 3-1, over UNLV (3-9-4, 1-3-3) on Thursday night at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Air Force tied their season high with a trio of goals from Addie Doyle, Peyton Ferrell, and Annika Jost.
Overall, Air Force led the attack, out-shooting the Rebels 18-9, with six shots on goal. Doyle recorded a three-point game, with one goal and one assist, while AJ Heap and Maddy Walsh both accounted for an assist, as well. In goal, Trishelle Lopez closed the match with four saves.
The Falcons were on top of their game, maintaining strong possession throughout the first half. With her first goal of the season, Doyle broke the scoreless tie in the 15th minute after Heap slipped her the ball from the left side of the box, allowing Doyle to slot it around the Rebels' keeper.
Air Force extended their lead just before halftime to 2-0. Following a corner kick at the 40' mark, a flurry of shots in the box ended with Ferrell finding the ball right and striking it past the defenders.
After the break, Doyle pushed up the right wing and crossed to Maddy Walsh, who connected with Jost for a slip into the back of the net at the 53rd minute, for a commanding 3-0 advantage. UNLV managed to break the shutout in the 85th minute with a header off a corner kick but were unable to keep Air Force from the 3-1 victory.
On the Attack
The Falcons are averaging 1.43 goals per game, with 20 total on the year. The attackers have been active in the offensive third with 13.8 shots per game, 193 combined shots, of which 84 were on goal. Nine individual Falcons have scored at least one goal, while Annika Jost currently leads Air Force with 12 points off five goals and two assists. Right behind Jost, Chase Borntreger has logged a pair of goals and three assists for seven points and junior Kendall Rippley has scored a trio of goals for Air Force with one assist to earn seven points.

Freshman, Trishelle Lopez, has claimed the starting spot in 12 Falcon matches this season to total 1080 minutes of play. The Cape Coral, Fla., native has managed 50 saves for a .735 save percentage. She posted a season-best performance against Rutgers, collecting her first collegiate shutout, a career-high six saves, and USAFA's Cadet Athlete of the Week honors. Lopez has recorded a trio of six-save matches.
Lopez earned her second career shutout in a 1-0 win at Wyoming while making eight saves across two matches to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the Falcons' first weekly award of the 2025 season.
Veteran goalkeeper, Kylie McElroy has taken a pair of starts to open the season, most recently at Gonzaga. She asserted her dominance in goal, collecting her first shutout of the season, 2-0, and recording a season-high seven saves.
