
Air Force Suffers 3-1 Setback to San Diego State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo., - Despite a strong night of blocking, the Air Force volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setback to San Diego State this evening (Oct. 2), during a conference contest at the Academy. In their final meeting as Mountain West opponents, the Falcons fell 17-25, 25-21, 25-27, 16-25 to the visiting Aztecs.
Backed by a match-high 11 stops from sophomore Grace Fiaseu, the Falcons combined for a season-high 16.0 total blocks (three solo, 26 assisted). In addition to the 11 assisted blocks from Fiaseu, Air Force earned five apiece from both sophomore Brooksie Isham (two solo, three assisted) and senior Ashley Bible (one solo, four assisted), while sophomore Mia Loyd (three), classmate Alysa Walker (three) and senior Alex Hatchett (two) assisted on multiple stops.
Bible led the way, offensively, for the Falcons, as she accounted for 16 kills on .204 hitting. Loyd tallied 29 assists and 16 digs for another double-double, while senior Jordan Suan led the team in digs (19) and eas one of two Falcons to serve up an ace (freshman Sam Pope).
The Falcons return to Cadet East Gym on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they host UNLV at 1:00 p.m. (MT).
