THE GAME
• Air Force and UConn are meeting for the first time. The matchup is one of 17 Group of Five first-time matchups in in college football this season. The Huskies will visit Falcon Stadium, Oct. 31, 2026. This agreement was created after Sam Houston State pulled out of its return trip to Falcon Stadium.
• Air Force leads the Mountain West in rushing (269.0), passing efficiency (170.34), yards per completion (18.33), fewest penalties per game (4.44) and fewest penalty yards per game (39.89).
• Air Force extended the nation's longest active streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games to 94 with 261 yards vs. San Jose State. No other team in the country has a streak longer than 45 games.
• Air Force has held three straight opponents to 21 points or less. The Falcons held Wyoming to 21, Army 20 and San Jose State 16.
THE SERIES

LOOKING AT UCONN
• UConn is 7-3 overall this season, playing as an FBS independent. This week concludes a three-game home stand for the Huskies, who are 5-0 at home this season.
• UConn is coached by Jim Mora, who is in his fourth season. He has guided the program to a 25-23 mark. Mora has a 71-53 career mark in his 10th season as a collegiate head coach. Mora was head coach at UCLA from 2012-17. He has vast experience in the NFL, serving as head coach at Seattle (2009) and Atlanta (2004-06). He has been an assistant at Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans and San Diego.
• UConn averages 456.7 total yards per game, including 300.5 passing and 156.2 rushing. Cam Edwards lead the team in rushing with 866 yards and 10 touchdowns. Quarterback Joe Fagnano has hit 236-343 passes for 2,840 yards with 25 touchdowns and no interceptions. He is averaging 284 yards per game. The defense is led by Bryun Parham, who has 96 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss for 89 yards and 10.5 sacks for 79 yards.
• Husky wide receiver Skyler Bell is among the nation's leading wide receivers this season with 85 catches for 1,081 yards and 13 touchdowns. Bell has had four games this season with 10+ catches and has six games with 100 yards receiving. He has 10 100-yard games at UConn. He had 11 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns last week vs. Duke.
• Kicker Chris Freeman hit a third-quarter 45-
yard field goal at Rice to mark his 12th-straight make to set a new career-best mark and a new UConn school record. Freeman made 11-straight last season, tying the previous mark set by Dave Teggart in 2011. Freeman is 18-21 overall this season.
• Linebacker Bryun Parham earned the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week award after his stellar performance at Boston College. Parham tied his then career-high with 14 tackles, nine solo.
• UConn has nine former Huskies represented
in the league. Last year's draft pick, tackle Chase Lundt (2021-24) joins former
UConn offensive lineman Ryan Van Denmark (2017-21) with the Buffalo Bills. Also
on opening day rosters was defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (2014-17) with the
Houston Texans, defensive tackle Travis Jones (2018-21) with the Baltimore Ravens,
offensive lineman Matt Peart (2016-19) with the Denver Broncos, and running back
Nate Carter (2021-22) with the Atlanta Falcons. Former offensive linemen Christian
Haynes (2018-23), Seattle Seahawks, and Valentin Senn (2021-24), Arizona Cardinals,

AN AIR FORCE WIN WOULD...
• Air Force would improve to 4-6 overall. The Falcons are 2-4 in Mountain West play.
• Air Force would win its second straight road game and improve to 2-3 on the road this season.
• Air Force would improve to 1-0 all-time UConn.
• Air Force would improve to 2-1 in the month of November.
• The Falcons would finish the regular season with a 2-2 record vs. non-conference opponents, including a 1-1 mark on the road.
LAST WEEK
Air Force defeated San Jose State, 26-16, in San Jose to pick up its first road win of the season. The Falcons forced three turnovers and had a safety on four consecutive possessions in the first half to build a 16-3 halftime lead. Roger Jones, Jr., recovered the fumble and interceptions came from Jaylin Reese and Levi Brown. The Falcons turned those into 14 points. The safety came when Jackson Adams deflected a pass from the San Jose State end zone, which was caught by a Spartan, who was tackled by Payton Zdroik. The Spartans cut the lead to 16-6 with a field in the third quarter, then made it 16-13 with a Steve Chavez-Soto touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Air Force responded with a Liam Szarka to Quin Smith touchdown pass to extend the lead to 23-13. Following the third of three San Jose State field goals to make it 23-16, the Falcons responded with an 11-play, 60-yard drive and senior Reagan Tubbs capped it with a game-clinching 33-yard field goal with 31 second remaining. Air Force finished with 302 total yards, including 261 rushing. Owen Allen led the way with 109 yards on 20 carries. Szarka added 87 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He also hit 5-10 passes for 41 yards and a score. Linebacker Dallas Davis led the defense with seven tackles, while Jones, Jr. and Blake Fletcher added six each. Brown chipped in with four, an interception and a pass breakup. San Jose State was led by Walker Eget, who hit 27-42 passes for 334 yards and two interceptions. The Spartans had 435 total yards.

With his two rushing touchdowns, he has now scored a rushing touchdown in five straight games. Szarka has rushed for 13 touchdowns this season, which is three shy of cracking the top 10 (16) in program history. He entered the day leading the Mountain West and ranked fifth nationally with 11 rushing TDs. Szarka has five games this season with multiple rushing touchdowns, including four of the last five.
• Junior RB Owen Allen rushed for a game-high 109 yards on 20 carries. He recorded his third 100-yard rushing game of the season, done over the last four games. It was his fourth career 100-yard rushing game.
• Senior WR Quin Smith caught his team-leading fourth touchdown pass of the season.
• Sophomore DB Roger Jones, Jr. recorded six tackles, four solo. He recovered a fumble in the first quarter, the first of his career. The turnover is his third this season (FR, 2 INT).
• Sophomore OLB Jaylin Reese recorded his first-career interception, returning it 16 yards.
• Senior DB Levi Brown recorded his first-career interception, returning it 42 yards. He has two career turnovers, as he recovered a fumble vs. Merrimack in 2024.
• Senior TE Bruin Fleischmann recorded team-high's of two receptions for 29 yards. Fleischmann has caught a pass in every game this season. The nine-game streak is the longest by a tight end in the Troy Calhoun era (2007).
• Junior LB Dallas Daley led the Falcons with seven tackles, tying his career high for the fourth-consecutive game.
• Senior kicker Reagan Tubbs kicked a 33-yard field goal to improve to 5-for-6 on field goals this season.
• Senior punter Luke Freer punted four times for a 40.8 yard average. He had two punts inside the 20 and had a long punt of 52 yards.
