
Hedden named AHA Defenseman of the Week for third time in four weeks

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior Chris Hedden was named the Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for helping lead the Falcons to a win and a tie at Canisius, Nov. 28-29.
The defenseman from Kalamazoo, Mich., had two points, both goals, in the Canisius series, Nov. 28-29. He also had five blocked shots and was a +2 in the series. Hedden scored both goals in the second game. His power-play goal in the second period tied the game at 2-2. His extra-attacker goal with 1:37 remaining in the third tied the game, forcing overtime and giving the Falcons a point in the standings. He leads the team with seven goals, the most in the league by a defenseman and tied as the second most in the nation by a defenseman.
The weekly award for Hedden is his third of the season and seventh of his career. It is the fifth weekly award won by the Falcons this season.
Air Force is 7-2-1 in the last 10 games and 8-6-2 overall this season. The Falcons (5-4-1 and in fourth place in the AHA) close out the first half of the season with a home series against conference rival Robert Morris, Dec. 5-6, at Cadet Ice Arena.
