Hedden named AHA Defenseman of the Week for fourth time in five weeks

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior Chris Hedden was named the Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Week for helping lead the Falcons to a split with Robert Morris, Dec. 5-6.

The defenseman from Kalamazoo, Mich., had two goals in the series, including a game-winner, had six shots on goal, blocked a shot and was a +1 in the series. He scored the game-winner in game one was a +2 as Air Force won, 4-1. In the second game, he scored Air Force's first goal that tied the game in the second period. His nine goals this season are second in the nation among all defenseman and rank second in the league among all players. He has a point in five of his last six games and has eight points in those games (5-3-8).

The weekly award for Hedden is his fourth of the season and eighth of his career. It is the sixth weekly award won by the Falcons this season.

Air Force is 8-3-1 in the last 12 games and 9-7-2 overall this season. The Falcons (6-5-1 and in fourth place in the AHA) are idle until the Desert Hockey Classic in Tempe, Ariz., Jan. 2-3.
