
Air Force Downed By FGCU, 4-3, At USTA National Training Center

Air Force men's tennis dropped a 4-3 contest to FGCU in a non-conference dual Thursday afternoon at the USTA National Training Center in Orlando (Lake Nona), Fla.
FGCU took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3.
The teams split singles 3-3, allowing FGCU to take the win.
Air Force tied the match up a 1-1 after Matthew Staton won at No. 5 over CJ Smith in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. FGCU went back ahead with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to go up 3-1.
Langdon Tingleaf got a win at No. 6 over Nanad Raut in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. Then Air Force tied the match up at 3-3 after Phillip Deaton won at No. 2 over Jonathan Baron 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
FGCU then won the deciding match at No. 4, as AJ Moore fell to Pablo Peternostro in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 15, against Navy as part of College MatchDay at the USTA National Training Center. Competition, along with AF women's team vs. Navy, begins at 5 pm ET.
