2/15/2025 8:14:00 PM | Track and Field
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Air Force senior Taylor Rioux crushed her own Academy Record in the 200-meter dash this afternoon (Feb. 15), as a small contingent of the track and field program wrapped up action at the Jarvis Scott Invitational in Lubbock.
Competing in her home state of Texas, Rioux dropped a half second off the previous record she set earlier this month, as she cruised to a 24.22 finish in the Invitational section. In addition to resetting her the program's indoor record, Rioux also took down the 20-year-old Senior Class Record that Jami Hodge had held since the 2005 outdoor season.
A pair of freshmen also impacted the program's all-time standings at the Sports Performance Center on Saturday, as Asher Jenkins moved up the record book in the 200-meter dash and Trevin Jordan debuted at No. 22 in the shot put. Jenkins lowered his time to 21.49 to finish fourth out of 67 sprinters and move into a tie with former Falcon Robbie Anderson (2018) for No. 11 on the all-time list, while Jenkins sent the shot put out to 16.20 meters (53'4¼") to debut at No. 22 in the record book and pick up a sixth-place finish in the day's event standings.
Elsewhere, junior Texas Tanner recorded a throw of 18.07 meters (59'3½") to finish fourth in the Invitational section of the shot put. On the women's side, freshman Morgan Glaser matched the second-highest high jump clearance of the meet (1.70 meters, 5'7") to finish eighth out of 23 jumpers based on tiebreakers, while sophomore Rachel Fereday clocked a time of 1:25.31 to earn a top-10 finish during her debut in the 600-yard run.
Air Force returns to action Feb. 27, when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 2025 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships.
