Air Force Downed 5-2 At BYU

Air Force men's tennis dropped a 5-2 contest at BYU (10-1) Saturday afternoon at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts in Provo, Utah.

The Falcons opened by dropping the doubles point with setbacks at No. 1 and No. 3.

In singles, the Falcons went 2-4, with setbacks in three sets at No. 1, 2, 5 and a 10-point tiebreaker loss at No. 6.

Air Force's wins game at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. AJ Moore won at No. 3 in straight sets over Tygen Goldammer 6-4, 6-4. Alec Fritzinger won at No. 4 over Adam Chodur in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3).

Head coach Evan Urbina recapping the match:
"A well fought match from both teams today. Once again, the doubles point was crucial. We will work to keep improving there. Our singles play was excellent. We put ourselves in positions to win, and need to continue finding ways to close out matches. Lots of lessons learned today that we will use later this season in conference play. We have a quick turnaround tomorrow against Weber State. We will need to bounce back quickly. Go Falcons!"

Air Force returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, March 2, at Weber State.
