Air Force Drops Regular Season-Finale At Utah State

LOGAN, Utah - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 87-47 contest at Utah State (25-6, 15-5 MW) in Mountain West play Saturday afternoon at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Freshman forward Will Cooper led the Falcons with 16 points.

Utah State shot 56 percent from the field and knocked down 15 three's. The Aggies forced 19 turnovers, which led to a 26-6 advantage in points off turnovers.

Air Force trailed 50-23 after a first half that saw the team turn the ball over 10 times, leading to 13 USU points. The Aggies shot 70 percent from the field and 65 percent from three, knocking down 10 of 15 from long range in the opening half.

Cooper shot 5-8 from the field and 4-6 from three to lead the Falcon offense, which got 35 points from the bench. Sophomore center Wesley Celichowski led the starters with six points. Sophomore forward Caleb Walker led the Falcons with four assists and freshman guard Kyle Marshall had two steals. Freshman guard AJ Patterson had a career-high four points in reserve.

Mason Falslev led three Aggies in double-figures with 18 points. Six different Utah State players made multiple three's on the day.

Air Force returns to action Wednesday, March 12 at the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men's Basketball Championship's. The Falcons, playing at the 11-seed, face 6-seed UNLV in the opening round at 4 pm PT at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
